This movie that Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan directed is overall a sports film that is set on the backdrop in Indo-Pak. The story is of one cricketer that turns kickboxer so as to avenge his brother’s death.

43. Salaam Bombay! (in 1988)

Mira Nair directed the film. It chronicles the daily life of children who live on Mumbai’s streets. It won the Film Award at the National level for Best Feature Movie in Hindi. It was even nominated for the Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language Film. Great!

44. B.A. Pass (in 2012)

Ajay Bahl directed this neo-noir film. It is based on one short story, Mohan Sikka’s The Railway Aunty. It is one story looking at a new life’s fatal promise. When Mukesh encounters Sarika at one kitty party, he hardly knows of the city as well as its ways, aside from the means to survive. The thing that follows is one twist of destiny, one kind of story which shows up in the tabloids as crime’s heinous acts.

The Anurag Kashyap film is based on the Mumbai bomb blasts in 1993. It was so controversial that the film did not gain the certification by the Censor Board for three years. It was ultimately released in 2007 since the Supreme Court allowed it after the ’93 Bombay case’s verdict was eventually delivered by the TADA court. Watch it!
