4. Filmistaan (from 2014)

It is a filmy man’s story. He is from India. He is mistakenly kidnapped. Then, while he is shooting a film, he is made to cross the border. When he is held hostage in Pakistan, his survival hope is Hindi films. The movie attained the National Film Award for Hindi’s Best Feature Film.

5. Chittagong (from 2012)

Directed by Bedabrata Pain, it is based on the Chittagong uprising of British India. The movie stars Manoj Bajpai as the main lead. It garnered many positive reviews from many critics and got the National Film Award for Best Debut Movie by a Director. 

6. Shahid (from 2013)

It is a biographical movie based on the life of Shahid Azmi – a lawyer as well as human rights activist. The movie focuses primarily on two significant cases of the lawyer: the Mumbai train bombings in 2006 and the Mumbai attacks in 2008. This movie got the National Film Award for Most Excellent Actor (Rajkummar Rao) as well Best Director (Hansal Mehta). See it!

8. Gour Hari Dastaan (from 2015)

Directed by Anant Mahadevan, it is an Indian freedom fighter’s story. This person is from Odisha. Gour Hari Das managed to fight for a certificate recognizing the work as a fighter for freedom that took three decades to arrive. 

9. Antardwand (from 2010)

It is based on the groom kidnapping’s cases in Bihar. It attained the National Film Award for Most Excellent Film regarding social issues. Watch it today!
