Four South Indian Movies You Can’t Miss on Amazon Prime Video and Zee5

July 2020 is set for more on Amazon Prime Video as one can enjoy  Law (releasing on 17th July) and French Biriyani (24th July). We have got a list of four South Indian movies that will sort out your weekend binge plans.


Released on 17th July, Law is Amazon Prime Video’s first-ever Kannada direct-to-service film. Produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, M Govinda and directed by Raghu Samarth, this movie is a criminal suspense drama following the life of Nandhini, a law student who seeks justice against a gruesome crime. The legal drama is led by Ragini Prajwal, who made her debut as a lead actress along with Mukhyamantri Chandru Achyuth Kumar and Sudharani. Don’t miss out this gripping story.

French Biriyani

Amazon Prime Video has recently dropped the trailer of the comedy French Biriyani, slated to release on 24th July. This is the second Kannada drama by the streaming service. The comedy-drama follows the life of an auto-rickshaw driver played by Danish Sait and a sales representative of a pharmaceutical company played by Sal Yusuf. Directed by Pannaga Bharana and produced by Guruduth A Talwar and Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, French Biriyani is sure to tickle your funny bones.

Lock Up

Touted to be a crime thriller, Vani Bhojan, Venkat Prabhu, and Vaibhav’s Lock Up will premiere on Zee5 in August. Written and directed by Murali Karthick, the drama shows a murder mystery where Vaibhav and Venkat Prabhu will be seen essaying the roles of cops. While Vaibhav’s character will portray the sincere cop, Venkat will hav a grey shade and Vani Bhojan will be seen playing Vaibhav’s love interest in the film. Lock Up is set to be released on 14th August.


Another film to be added on this list is the Varalaxmi Sarathkumar-starrer Danny. Directed by LC Santhanamoorthy, Danny tells the story of Varalaxmi’s character Kundhavai, who will be seen as a gritty cop investigating a murder. The film is set to release on Zee5 on 1st August.
