The remake of the smash hit 3 idiots by Sankar is waiting to hit the screens for Pongal. Vijay plays the male protagonist with Jiiva, Srikanth, Satyaraj, Ileana, Anuya and Sathyan playing prominent roles. Harris Jayaraj has scored music for the film and Sankar and Madhan Karky have written the screenplay. The original was written by Rajkumar Hirani depicted from Chetan Bhagat’s novel Five Point Something.
